The term “sustainability” raises questions about a better way of life, a better relationship between humans and their environment. Can sustainability foster an innovative poetics of its own – and does poetry hold a key to a sustainable way of living? Lars-Arvid Brischke, a German poet and scientist in the field of renewable energies, will discuss the issue with the American poet and translator Donna Stonecipher, followed by a reading of their poems and collaborative translations.

Der Begriff der Nachhaltigkeit stellt die Frage nach einer besseren Lebensweise, nach einem besseren Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Umwelt. Gibt es eigenen, innovativen Poetiken der Nachhaltigkeit – und liegt in der Poetik an sich ein Schlüssel zur nachhaltigen Lebensart?
Über diese Frage diskutiert Lars-Arvid Brischke, Lyriker und Senior Scientist im Bereich erneuerbare Energien mit der amerikanischen Lyrikerin und Übersetzerin Donna Stonecipher. Anschließend werden die Beiden ihre – gegenseitig übersetzten – Gedichte auf Deutsch und Englisch vortragen.
